Hi there! I am Rianne. I am a passionate entrepreneur who began her journey in an unusual place: Myanmar.
In 2013, I left the Netherlands and moved to Yangon to start an online venture for Rocket Internet. Myanmar was one of the last frontier markets in the world, only just beginning its connectivity journey. As the first internet cables were being laid, I was at the forefront of establishing an online sales platform in an entirely new market (selling cars for those wondering!). Having succeeded in delivering this business for the founders, I decided to venture out on my own.
Part of a now-booming internet landscape, I founded a digital marketing agency, reaching $1 million USD annual turnover in three years with clients such as Heineken, Volvo and the largest domestic bank on the roster. It wasn’t long before an international media company came knocking and I got the opportunity to sell the agency. Simultaneously, I was appointed CEO of a newly merged business: my team grew from 20 to 80 overnight.
This was the turning point for me to take my skill and passion for business efficiency to a new level. Inheriting a huge team with zero consistent systems or processes in place meant a super clear strategy was vital for giving every team member direction, purpose and a framework to measure success.
That success was based on a drive to always set clear targets, coming up with quick, practical execution to make sure that no matter what the situation, those targets were achieved. The lessons that I learned during my tenure as CEO form the foundation of her new business, Practic. I now train leadership teams to turn their ideas into measurable goals and a crystal clear execution plan.

Off the back of the success of the OKR rollout in Myanmar, I had been asked to support Ringier’s global markets to facilitate the implementation of OKRs such that they could reap the same benefits of the method as Duwun had.

This challenge really made me obsessed with being a good leader: from one day to the next I was in charge of 80 people within the Duwun team. I started using OKRs and realized the power of the tool.

Irie Digital is my first business: with the internet in Myanmar booming, I saw a big demand in marketing services amongst all brands in Myanmar. Quickly we were working for companies such as Heineken, Ford, and large local banks. I succesfully sold this company to Ringier in 2020.

Rocket Internet brought me to Myanmar, where I started a completely unexpected but exciting journey in my career to becoming an entrepreneur. This is where I lead a team for the first time, building an online car-sales platform (Motors.com.mm).
